Graphic Designer and Marketing

We are adding to our graphic design and marketing team. Our plans are to find the right candidate to take on the responsibility of a multi-faceted department. The selected candidate must have experience building and maintaining web sites and some knowledge of social media.

You will be expected to learn to laser engrave and be responsible for project deadlines. There will be a variety of creative tasks including creating brochures, updating websites and creative direct mail. This is a fun position for anyone with a lot of creative energy. However it is also fast paced with ever changing priorities and a solid work log all with due dates. You may want to spend hours on a single project when that project may only have a half hour or an hour built into it. Almost every project goes back for revisions and many times back to the drawing board. If you do not take criticism well and are not fast within your programs, this may not be the position for you. If you are fast paced, enjoy a heavy workload and can knock out a good list each day, this will be one of the most creative work environments you will ever come across.

This position is well more than a graphic design position, it requires you to handle and balance our marketing efforts, your project deadlines and any special events you volunteer for.  This is a very fast paced position with deadlines that must be met.

Below are several of the major duties, but not in its entirety:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate's degree in Graphic Design / Graphic Arts required
• Minimum of three years’ experience as a graphic designer
• Strong design skills, including creative design solutions within brand standards
• Team player with strong conceptual skills and the ability to think out of the box
• Is self-motivated, takes responsibility, and resolves situations
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Industry knowledge will be taught (learning the catalogs, understanding pricing structure and understanding our printing processes)
• Excellent with Adobe Suite programs including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Dreamweaver.
• Knowledge of File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Creating virtual proofs for customer orders
• Designing and updating content for marketing materials including brochures and advertising
• Develop and present design concepts for projects
• Participate actively in project and process meetings as necessary for the accurate and timely completion of projects, and provide feedback on an on-going basis.
• Produce laser engraved products (easy to learn)
• Updating our website as well as our clients sites
• Effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
• Demonstrates self-reliance by meeting/exceeding workflow needs
• Other duties as assigned

Hours: Full-time, $12-15. Per hour based on experience. Plenty of room for advancement.
